  EVEN MORE ABOUT THE ARTIST:
You must be pretty bored to read this... I will list my interests and hobbies on this page as well as some neat stuff not related to my artwork.

MISSION IN LIFE:
My goal - my dream - is to build a village and school that attracts gay men who work and live with the goal of forming a tribe that shares love. I want to draw young people to my cause and impress upon them feelings of self-worth and confidence and courage. I believe life is unfair to gay people, and for my part I want to change that - even if I cannot change the mind of the world and improve it, I still want to create a place that shelters and nurtures the displaced, unwanted gay men: my tribesmen.
I envision a community that is largely self-sustaining and enclosed. It will be a college of art and old-world teaching that disavows electricity and processed food and materials, but instead it will be a university where students learn basic living and survival skills such as animal husbandry, farming, producing textiles, crafting furniture and art. Strong emphasis will also placed on physical fitness.
Most importantly, I want to educate gay youths about living together and loving each other. So much shame is attached to non-reproductive sex and gay relations, that many of my tribesmen are afraid to love or never learned how. Moreover, gays and lesbians typically grow up in an environment that forces gender roles upon them (which can lead to confusion about their identity) and fails to provide opportunities for social interaction and experimentation. I want to compensate for that and create a rich environment of exploratory sex and relationship building.

HISTORY:
I just started drawing pictures this year. Two weeks ago, I did my first painting, and it turned out super. So my short-term goal is to keep cranking out pieces until I have several lines of work and a large offering of repros. Then I want to settle back and start doing the paintings I've had in my head for years but never had the resources to accomplish.
Two years ago I was doing digital art and photography. I met some great guys in Ft. Lauderdale who modelled in swimwear for photoshoots. (Still haven't finished processing all those pictures!) I really enjoyed what I was doing, but I wasn't making money. So then I met a great guy, Adam Rote (www.adamrote.com) who had been an artist for over 15 years. I went with him to shows where he sold his paintings and prints and decided to follow in his steps.
The irony is, I had already dropped any notion of being an artist years earlier after leaving college. Nobody could convince me that artists made money or that painting could be a rewading career. Now I beat myself on the head and cry, oh, the wasted years! When I look at everything Adam has going for him, I really regret not having started sooner.
