PORTRAITS:

Here is a portrait done for my family. The lady pictured is my paternal grandmother, Evelyn Porter, and is a beautiful period piece even without the value of being family. I really should have put a background behind her, but this was many hours of work by itself.
Medium: graphite (pencil).

This picture was a gift to my sister-in-law, Lisa. The subject is her grandfather - a man who is missed dearly by her family. The source image for the drawing was a small black and white photograph provided by the family.
Medium: graphite (pencil).

This is a patron from Anagni, Italy. He commissioned this portrait of himself and one other of Renato.

A drawing of a colonial re-enactor from Williamsburg, VA. I used cross hatching instead of my usual blending technique. To get darker values I blended first then applied cross hatching. Sadly, you can't see the pencil strokes in the large version of this web image.

My first commissioned portrait sketch (a friend in Richmond). I blended sparingly and left lots of lines to create some awesome texure.
